CIS Solar Panels

Solar Frontier’s CIS is different with inclusion of the elements gallium and sulfur in the semiconductor layer. The CIS modules can generate more electricity (kilowatt-hours per kilowatt-peak) than crystalline silicon panels in real-world conditions.

  • Better performance in hot conditions 
    In hot climates, the temperature of a solar module can be much higher than the ambient temperature. The CIS modules have a low temperature coefficient, enabling them to generate more power than crystalline silicon panels in hot conditions.
  • Low-light behavior 
    Although solar panels are tested at 1,000 W of sunlight irradiance, in the real world this occurs less than 1% of the time. The CIS modules offer higher performance at lower irradiance levels.
  • Better tolerance for shadows 
    The circuit layout of the CIS thin-film modules minimizes the influence of shadows. In partially shaded conditions where typical crystalline silicon panels would stop producing electricity, the CIS modules continue to provide energy.
  • Appearance, Aesthetics, Form and Functionality for Architectural Applications
    The black frame of the Solar Frontier modules is an integrated functional and design element. It is made of long-life anti-corrosion aluminum which is screwed at the corners. This guarantees long life reliability and aesthetics.
